The Contrast series from Kosta Boda is manufactured using a technique called centrifugation. The technique, invented in Sweden's Kingdom of Crystal in the 1950s, creates veils of color inside the glass mass. Göran first came to Kosta Boda in the mid 60's. From 1974 to 1985 he lived and worked in Australia and the United Kingdom. From there, he still did some design assignments for Kosta - and to keep shipping costs at a minimum he sent models in styrofoam to the glassworks back in Sweden. He returned to Kosta Boda full time in 1986.
